In an interview in the October issue of Upscale magazine, the former Mrs. Usher Raymond recounts how she was savagely judged by bloggers because, as she puts it, she didn't fit the image of the kind of woman people thought Usher should marry.
"I understand where all the negativity comes from," she told the magazine. "Unfortunately I think that some black women are — subconsciously — not in love with the image they see in the mirror. Therefore in turn they do not love someone like me. I look too much like them."
She goes on to say that she may have been better accepted if she were more "exotic" looking. "They would definitely have preferred my husband marry someone more exotic looking. I was not given a fair shot," she explained. "People passed judgment without getting to know me. How can you get the entire concept of who I am from a blog?"
Usher and Foster, who runs a styling company called Swanky Image Group, have two sons together, and even though the marriage didn't work out between the two, she does say that she still loves Usher and that "he's a great guy."
"The dissolution of marriage is always upsetting," she said. "You have the expectation that it will work. But, you know what? It didn't work. But he's (Usher) a great guy. I will always love him."

Of course, know one really knows what goes on behind closed doors and the dissolution of a marriage is never a happy thing. However, I think Ms. Foster is delusional if she believes that no one gave her a "fair shot" because of her looks. Personally, I never gave her a fair shot because the match didn't seem right. She didn't seem sincere and I couldn't get passed the fact that Usher fired his mama behind this woman. In the end, I believe she got exactly what she wanted: a meal ticket.
