Trying Something New

So about 2 weeks ago I had lunch with about 4 of my chicas and we catching up discussing life family friends relationships and all that other good girl talk.

So my friend Kristen says, "So I'm getting married right? And I'm having the hardest time figuring out how I want it to be? Its really stressing me out." She then looks at me and says, " Randa, I want YOU to be my wedding planner and also plan my bachelorette party!"

I almost choked on my fruit basket!! I was shocked and amazed she even asked me?!? But at the same time my wheels starting turning and its been on every since! I am so ecstatic to be a part of my friends wedding but to basically bring it all together?

I've never done anything like this before but I've always been great with organizing being creative and finding great deals for anything!! My dad calls me " Hassle Woman " lmao! I get it honest though because my mom was the same way. My butt should be an attorney!

But none the less I have been having a ball getting things in order! The wedding is scheduled for november of 2010 and we all are sooo excited! She keeps asking when will she be planning mine? I reply as soon as god sees fit to put my husband in my life;o)

I've posted two of her dresses that she has fallen in love with. Just a little sneak peek. Her colors she choose were brown cream, and champagne. The bacherlorette party will be a nice Mardi Gras theme since most of us have never been!! Mmmm hmmmm!! Lol

Working It Out

So I've been back on my workout kick for the last month. I had slacked off the last few months but since my birthday July 4th, I've been hitting it hard core.

It so hard when it comes to dieting and loosing weight. Its a struggle for some and come easy for others. With me its just having too much on my plate and making excuses. I make time for other unnecessary things why not make time for my health?

Me being in the medical field should be more conscious and considerate of my health. But like I said, I get caught up with other things that I wasn't paying attention like I should.

Well that is no more!! I have been packing my lunch and snacks for work and when I do eat out its as healthy as it can possibly be. Its hard with the staff I work with cause they are always ordering out or having potlucks.

But I've made up my mind and I'm sticking to it! I will lose my 25 to 30 pounds and I will be healthier and happy. I need all the energy I can get because I have big goals to accomplish and it will take great health, stamina, and focus!

I'm off to a great start 7 pounds in my first 7 days and since then I'm lost another 7 pounds in the last week as well! So 14 pounds down in about 2 2 1/2 weeks? Not bad if I may say so myself. And I've been working out as well. Sometimes 2 times a day.

I will admit I haven't been as tired or sick or just feeling run down as usual. The diet and exercise has definitely helped my energy and my metabolism. I'm not eating big meals like I usually would and I've been eating 2 big meals and little snacks throughout the day to help speed my metabolism up.

I just take it day by day and pray that the lord helps to keep my spirit and determination to succeed up. I've also meet some friends who are just as determined as me! So that's always a great thing to have motivation and someone to work out with.

To whomever else in fighting the weight battle and feel alone, trust me you're not! I'm here and I'm sure other bloggers are fighting the hard fight too! We all have to stick together and be supportive. Yea we may be far away or close by, but that's what emails, texts, bbm, I'm, and all these other forms of communication are for.

I've posted a few pics from my workout today. I look a mess but oh well! That's how you're suppose to look after a long good workout!

Shyne to Finally be Released from Prison

Longtime incarcerated fall guy rapper Shyne has finally received a release date from prison, October 6, 2009.

While Shyne's imminent release has been been rumored about for years, this date is actually confirmed by the parole board, though the former Bad Boy rapper must still attend a hearing today, to receive the parameters of his parole.

"The judge will decide whether to give him the maximum parole, which is five years, or the minimum parole, which is two-and-a-half years," Shyne's attorney, Oscar Michelen, explained. "Shyne will automatically have to do at least a year-and-a-half, which is how much of [the] 10 year [sentence remains]... [Shyne] still owes the balance to the 10. But, [the district attorney] also [has] been looking to add to that [time] as well..."

While the math on his time-served is confusing, that's just the tip of the iceberg for Shyne. "The same D.A. [from 2001] is on the case," continued his attorney, "that's Matt Bogdanos. He's in Iraq... And, it's being handled by the D.A. who's in charge of all post-release supervision. When they enacted mandatory sentencing, determinate sentencing, they said that you also had to have mandatory parole. Most judges just assumed that parole would be added automatically. They didn't realize that they had to actually sentence the person to it. So now a new law was passed that allows the Correction Department to address that by asking the judge to re-sentence the inmate..."

In the meantime, Shyne has been moved from Woodbourne Correctional Facility in Sullivan County, New York to Rikers Island, in preparation for his appearance. While his release date is officially set, he will learn today whether he will be allowed to return to his recording career, and what parameters will be set on his activities; if he is sentenced to a 5-year parole term, he will not be allowed to tour.

"Enough is enough. Five years [post release supervision] is overly harsh and unnecessary,'" Michelen stated. "He'd need permission for everything...and so that would really be a problem and be very restrictive on him."

We wish Shyne the best. Wonder what Diddy thinks about all of this?

Excited About Life

I will admit that here lately have been more excited about life than I ever had before! I have truly become an independent woman and a career woman as well.

I will admit due to my technical difficulties with work, I didn't move as planned. I was heated pissed off and ready to act a fool when they told me they wasn't signing my transfer papers. But I stepped back and listened to God.

I honestly heard him say, " don't worry I got you." It was truly a situation where everything happens for a reason. It sucks because I already moved out my old place and had my stuff packed up:o( I'm not staying with the parental where I get to stack more bread and really get things in order.

I will also say that I have met some of the coolest, sweetest, smartest, hard working, talented men and women over the last few months as well. It has been a breath of fresh air knowing people who strive believe and want the same things out of life as I do.

I've been trying to get out more to network participate and just mingle with the future business men and women of my hometown and others across the globe! I absolutely meeting new people and trying new things!

So I brought a few books the other day and all of them were actually by T.D. Jakes. Absolutely love him and hope to have the honor of meeting him personally! I have had the pleasure of seeing and hearing him speak, but yet to meet him.

His books are for men and women. He really speaks the truth and breaks it down as far as life, love, trust, financial, god, but most of all, working on self. The book above is the 1st one that I've started reading. Its great thus far!

I've listed a the books overview to get an idea what its about. Ladies take note and try reading something different then the regular romance, drug dealing, beauty, and all that other craziness that's out there. Not knocking though because I read it too! But be woman enough to expand your minds.

Heading To Atlanta!!

So I was invited to a very exclusive birthday party for one of the editors of J'Adore Magazine based out of Atlanta GA. I am very excited and honored to have been chosen to attend this " Invite Only " bash.

I'm quite sure that it will definitely be going down with a lot of big names and talented people who will be attending. I wish I could stay the whole weekend, but I have to be back to work sun:o( Oh well! Gotta keep my bills paid! Lol

Its Been Awhile.....

Since I've been on here! Sorry I haven't updated in awhile, but a lot of life changes has been taking place. For starters the move I was so excited about has been post poned for a later date. It was due to some straight bs, but let's just say I'm not mad about the outcome. The move is still on and I will have a special post just for it! I truly hope that all my blogger fam has been healthy blessed and productive in my abscence? Some of you we talk on twitter, some through google or yahoo chat, facebook, bbm,txt, or on the phone.
